Preparing for a Clear and Grounded 2026
An Important Note Before You Begin
This reflection is here when you want it. If you are tired and need rest, honor that. You can return to this in mid January or even later. This is a choice, not an obligation. Take it at the pace that supports your energy, not the pace society suggests.
This practice should take about 20-30 minutes, but take more if you need. Give yourself quiet space. Turn off notifications. Maybe light a candle or put on some music you like.
No judgment. Just honest insight.
1. Your 2025 Wins and Moments of Pride
Take a moment to look back at the year with clarity and compassion. Write freely.
• What are you most proud of this year, both professionally and personally?
• What milestones did you hit that felt meaningful?
• Where did you surprise yourself?
• What feedback, or moments reaffirmed your direction or shifted your understanding of your work?
2. Systems That Worked
Identify the rituals, tools, and workflows that supported you this year.
• What rituals helped you stay aligned or effective?
• What tools, processes, or workflows made your life easier?
• Where did you feel in flow? Notice the patterns or environments where your creative energy felt natural and grounded.
3. Systems That Did Not Serve You
Before stepping into the new year, name what can be retired or reshaped.
• What rituals drained you or created friction?
• What tools or processes felt outdated, heavy, or forced?
• Where did you feel stuck or resistant?
• What can you simplify, hand off, or stop doing in 2026?
4. Lessons and Themes From 2025
Every year teaches something. Capture what this one offered.
• What were the most important lessons you learned about your work, craft, business, or yourself?
• What repeated themes did you notice?
• What do you want to carry forward?
• What do you want to leave behind?
5. Your 2026 Vision and Next Steps
Look ahead with clarity and intention.
• What do you want to grow, simplify, or release in 2026?
• What one result would make 2026 feel like a breakthrough year? Be as specific as possible: It could be an accomplishment, earning, project, you name it.
• What systems, support, or habits will you need to build that future?
6. Creative Identity Check In
A clearer sense of self creates a clearer path.
• What kind of artist are you becoming?
• What values feel non-negotiable for the next year?
• What communities, collaborators, or clients do you want to be in conversation with?
• What do you want to be known for by the end of 2026?
7. Your Support Network
No one builds a creative life alone. Name the people and structures that help you stay grounded.
• Who supported you this year and how?
• Who/What do you want support from next year?
• Where do you need mentoring, coaching, accountability, or community?
• What conversations do you need to start in the next 60 days?
8. Your First Three Actions for 2025
End with momentum, not pressure. Choose three simple, realistic actions to set the tone for the year.
